Hi, I had same problem and worked on it this morning. Remove the lower panel above the peddles. Easy to remove the fan 4 small hex head screws 5.5mm. Remove three connectors from the fan resistor pack which is screwed to the fan assembly. I removed the resistor pack and cleaned the heat sink with a stiff brush and wd40.
